Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need spending money
No—there is nothing to buy during the week at camp. All snacks and treats are provided. T-shirts may be pre-purchased as indicated on the registration form.
A week at camp seems expensive. Is financial assistance available?
A quality program including outstanding staff costs money. Some churches in the New Hope Presbytery offer financial assistance to campers. Check with your local church pastor or session if financial assistance is needed. Grandparents are often glad to help with the cost of a week at camp. Each camper will recieve lunch and two snacks as part of our program. We also have half-week scholarships available to families who qualify. Click Here for more information and our application. Can my child call home?
Calling home is discouraged. If a child is homesick, not participating with the group, disrupting the camp or causing other problems, the camp director will call the parents to discuss options. If my child is injured or ill, how will I be notified?
The camp director will contact you by phone if any first aid incident occurs requiring more than a band-aid.
Can our family use the pool at New Hope Camp and Conference Center?
Yes! New Hope CCC sells pool passes and memberships to those wishing to use the pool.
Can I pick my child up early or drop my child off late to camp during the week?
This is discouraged. The camp program day is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Campers who come late or leave early miss out on important group building time and will not get the full benefits of our day camping program. We understand that occasionally campers have appointments that must be attended to during the day but we encourage all parents to keep late drop off and early pick up to a minimum.
