Walking the Labyrinth
Thursday March 25, 2010
10:00am - 2:30pm
You are invited to a short retreat with the our 11-circuit Chartres-pattern labyrinth at NHCCC. We offer this opportunity to open to Christ’s abiding presence as we walk together, in the
labyrinth. We will meet for orientation to the labyrinth and to various ways of walking and praying it.
Bring a journal and some drawing or painting tools if you like, as well as your Bible. We will intersperse our times of walking the labyrinth with times of silent reflection (to journal, to pray, to listen, rest, and be); our conclusion will afford an opportunity to share our
experiences. At mid-day a simple lunch will be served.
MEET OUR RETREAT LEADER
Nancy Corson Carter, Ph.D. and PCUSA elder, will be our leader. She is a published poet and author of Martha, Mary, and Jesus: Weaving Contemplation and Action in Daily Life, a graduate of the Group Leaders Program at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, an
experienced workshop and retreat leader (of spiritual, ecological, and creative topics), and a cofacilitator of a weekly Contemplative Prayer group at the Church of Reconciliation in Chapel Hill. She finds labyrinths, including this one, which she and others from her church helped to build, to be amazing spiritual tools.
